Pan Am Air Bridge

When ReefNews travelled to Bimini, we flew on a seaplane! This was the Pan Am Air Bridge between Watson Island in Miami, Florida and Alice Town, Bimini. This photo shows the seaplane after it landed on the ocean east of North Bimini. (Always owned by Chalks, as of 2001 the Air Bridge has resumed its original name of Chalks International Airlines.)

Here the seaplane approaches a ramp up onto the beach.

Pan Am crew loads baggage

Once on dry land, the crew unloads baggage from the seaplane
as the passengers exit down a staircase.
