A Tropical Sunset on Bonaire

Beautiful sunsets are produced by the clean air and ocean moisture in the tropics. This photo was taken from the capital city of Kralendijk (say "CRAWL-in-dike") in June. Kralendijk is a Dutch word that means coral dike. Pieces of broken coral were piled along the shoreline to hold back large waves that occur during storms, creating dikes made of coral and giving Kralendijk its name.

Another Tropical Sunset on Bonaire

Light is scattered by the air at sunset, casting beautiful reds and oranges on the clouds.
